My research interests are mostly centered on community and metacommunity ecology. I mostly focus on understanding how dispersal can change the effects of local processes such as environmental filtering, biotic interactions, and demographic stochasticity on community structure. Most important, I am interested in using the metacommunity framework to understand the consequences of environmental change to biodiversity. My preferred study system has been amphibians and aquatic insects in freshwater pond systems. However, I am also open to working on other interesting biological systems.
